| Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some
shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and
doctrines of devils;

Discerning the apostate church & the new-age movement...
Towards further spiritual understanding of these end-times...
discernment of
the apostate church and the new-age movement is necessary. Whilst at the
time of writing they may appear to be separate, prophecy would indicate a final
world religion, unifying multitudes dedicated to world peace, yet a system so
diabolical in origins that it is rejected by the true people of God!
Consider these basic spiritual truths:
- Scripture, Jewish/Christian, teaches of a battle between forces of Good & Evil.
- Scripture points to an end-time onslaught of evil through the antichrist/beast.
- Scripture warns of the necessity to try the spirits, whether they are of God.
- Scripture says that those who deny Jesus to be the Christ are liars & antichrist.
- Scripture warns of many false christs and false prophets in the last days.
- Scripture warns against those who call good evil and call evil good.
- Scripture says it is given unto man to die once and then be judged.
- Scripture warns that Satan is able to be transformed into an angel of light.
- Scripture warns of those who pervert the gospel and preach alternative gospels.
What the scriptures say...
Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that
antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we
know that it is the last time.
Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is
antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of
God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus
Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh
is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard
that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that
Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and
brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented
day and night for ever and ever.
The following observations could be made regarding new-age teachings ...
- The new-age teaches the non-existence of the concepts of good and evil.
- The new-age teaches of a time of upheaval at the end of the age, suggesting the cause to be those people with wrong thought patterns or vibrations.
- The new-age founders and present members have never tried the spirits.
- The new-age teaches about Christ yet demonstrate a dislike for the name of Jesus.
- The new-age has no concept of false christs, disregarding scripture.
- The new-age teaches those believing in evil need to be either re-educated or eliminated.
- The new-age teaches reincarnation, merely demonstrating immortality and memory in the demonic source of their teachings.
- Many new-age teachers & founders claim to have had encounters with angels of light.
- Many new-age false gospels abound, so many in fact that anyone with discernment can see that someone is going to great lengths to pervert the truth, laying false trails.
- Those involved in the new-age although sincere about their beliefs and even nice people fail to demonstrate the fruits of the holy spirit. i.e. love, joy, peace..etc.
- The new-age encourages the imputing of energies in what are in effect lifeless idols.
- The source of new-age teachings are not human, but are cunningly devised fables, perpetrated by the powers & principalities.
What the scriptures say...
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after
their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto
fables.
Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions,
rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.
But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto
godliness.
And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my
name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore
after them.
Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for
light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for
bitter! Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their
own sight!
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto
you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.
Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of
God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord,
but by the Holy Ghost.

(For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness,
goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
