And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

The 20^th century explosion of knowledge, giving mankind the ability to land on the moon & send exploratory probes to the stars, set the scene for the final chapter of this age. Disruptive weather systems, called el nino & la nina, causing havoc around the world. Whilst the gospel provides sure & certain hope, many hearts still fail with fear.
The reference to the powers of heaven being shaken describe Satan & his demonic hordes being cast out of heaven to earth.
